They told us that the NICU is a place where we go one step forward two steps back... (whatever)
This mornings call into hospital said that Livia had another bad night(lots of A's and B's) so they are putting her back on the ventilator later this morning for the next week or two so she can chill out, relax, and grow. We remain optimistic for her outcome.
PartII
In addition to Livia's tube down her she is getting her food through a NJ tube which is a feeding tube which goes directly into the jejunum, a part of the small intestines. She used to get the food through a tube that went directly into stomach(the kind Nina has and most of the kids here in NICU land have) but Dr's said it was maybe contributing to her breathing issues. Today's lung x-ray was not the greatest. A lot of white (white in xrays is bad) Basically today sucked for Livia...
Nina is going great. She's down to 23%O2 support on CPAP and I held her for 2 hours on cannula.
I am afraid to get too excited about her progress and jump to paint the nursery b/c anything can happen ....it can all fall apart. One day we are up and one day it just falls apart.

Hey Fox Family,
So your news doesn't sound the greatest and we realize it is hard to remain positive. But Livia and Nina have cleared some pretty tough hurdles in 8 weeks and they will contine to do so. Easier said than done, I know, but Keep the Faith. We think of you guys every day and pray lots too. Hang in there. Tomorrow is another day (day 57!!)
LOVE and PRAYERS,
Kristin, Chris and Owen
The ups and downs of the NICU are very hard. I think of you all often...keep your heads up!
Livia has been fighting really hard - she's a strong little girl. We all went to mass this morning and said our extra prayers for all of you. I can't imagine how hard it is for you both to be riding this roller coaster. We'll be thinking of you guys all day today! Love, Sheryl, Eric and Erin.
Keep up the fight Fox Fam.
We love you.
