Neonatal Follow-up Appt

Great visit today! Her development is on target at 10.5-11 month level- which is her adjusted age and a little more! They evaluated Nina and she passed all their tests. Basically they wanted to see how she played, moved, and motor skills. The only thing Nina needs to work on her pincher grasp. No problem! They also want us to introduce sippy cup. I told them introductions have been made...but we are pretty lenient. I went out and bought my 7th or 8th type today! Dr Brown's makes one so we'll see how it goes.

Here's Nina's 14 month stats and % based on preemie scale:
weight 20.5 (80%)
length: 27 inches (20%)
head:45.5 (75%)

So yeah, wonderful progress being made by Nina. We do not go back until January!

Heres a sippy cup recommendation. Try the disposable ones they sell at walmart and target. They usually have elmo or something on them. There arent any valves in the tops and the liquid kinds of drips out a little. It gives them the idea there is liquid in the cup and eventually they just start sucking on it. It worked for me!!

Sounds like she's tracking EXACTLY like Cooper did. We also had a struggle with the pincer grasp and struggled big time with sippy cups. He finally go the hang of it. Now we struggle with him feeding himself with utensils.

Way to go Nina on all of your progress!

It sounds like she's doing really well! You must be proud. Good luck with the sippy cup. We've tried all kinds and E's still not really interested in drinking.

Grow Nina Grow!

She's not supposed to be 1 year yet, so don't get hung up on the sippy. Adelina only wants one because her "big" sister has one. She's too cute.
