Nina has been moved to the dreaded quarantine room. She has the MRSA bug. (the super bug)
She will be treated with the super drug- Vancomycin. The MRSA is currently in her trachea. We get the blood results later this afternoon.(It better stay where it is) Even though is is pretty sick, they say she is doing OK in her breathing, eating, voiding, active. Hopefully her immune system is up to the challenge.
Livia's meds to get the swelling down are working and she looks much better than yesterday.
Livia has a different kind of bug where the meds she's on are working so hopefully by the end of the month she'll be eating again and in tip top shape. She may be getting exubated today or tomorrow. She's still in isolation- she is still on the floor but we need to wear the gown and gloves and she has only one nurse with her. I believe when she comes off the vent she'll be out of the isolation.

Good to hear that they identified the bug. Hopefully, the meds will work. You guys are in our prayers.
We are praying for those meds to be the 'kryptonite' for that 'super bug'. Hope you two are doing OK through this latest challenge with Nina. You are always in our thoughts. We are here for you.
All our love,
Chris, Kristin & Owen
Jason and Judith,
We just wanted to let you know that we think about you and the girls daily.
Stay strong,
Kevin and Karen Hilyard
What a nasty bug to have. Ashton had this as well once. Hopefully they won't need too many treatments with vancomycin, that is what caused Ashton's hearing loss. Great drug, but the side effects suck.
Get well girls!
