Today at 11:30am, they took they took Livia off the ventilator and back on Bubble CPAP! She's on her 8/10th day on the antibiotics for her staph infection and they are working. She's on the final day of the hydrocortizone (steroids) for her swelling. She's on 29% O2 support on the CPAP which is great. She's still a bit swollen with some fluid that should be totally gone in a couple days, but here's some pics of her right after they took the tube out today. Her cheeks are red from the tape that held the tube in 
place and she is still swollen, but I think her face will remain round like Jason's.YEAH LIVIA! YOU JOINED THE 2 POUND CLUB!!!
Nina girl is taking it easy in the 'back room' . Even though she has MRSA she is not showing signs of being ill. She is doing OK and hopefully they will be able to wean her vent settings and O2 levels so she can come off the vent.
Ventilators have germs that can get the babies sick, and I cannot wait until both our girls are finished with this chapter of the NICU hell experience.

Hurray for Livia! 2lbs and free of the vent! We are all hoping that Nina can kick that bad MRSA germ out. Erin thinks that all germs are like those Mucinex guys on the commerical. I guess it's not bad to personalize them - makes it easier to visualize kicking their butts! CONGRATS! I am so happy Liva is off the vent. Thanks for keeping us updated. You guys are in my prayers. Glad to hear that Nina is not showing the infection. Hopefully, it will just pass without ever showing itself.

YEA!!! Great news that the drugs are working and Livia is off the vent! And 2 lbs!! And wonderful news that Nina is not showing any signs of the infection. Great news all around!
