Nina joined the 2 pound club!

Good news: As of this morning's call to hospital, Miss Nina is 2 pounds!
Not so good news: Nina's O2 level has increased and they think it may have to so with the size of her vent tube, so today they are taking the old one out and putting in a new one. The told me it was like breathing through a straw that had a lot of mucus in and around it. Hopefully this will help her.

Livia's pretty swollen from fluid retention. They are giving her lasik(so) every 48 hours and today are starting hydracortizone(sp) for 3 days to help with swelling. Last night she had a bm that had some mucus and tested positive for some blood, so they are stopping her feeds for 10 days while she's on the antibiotics. They said the bm (scary bm, in my opinion) was most likely a result from no food with the drugs. They are not worried so I am only mildly freaking out. Livia's nutrition intake now is back to TPN and Lipids.
On the brighter side of this hell, Livia's O2 support on vent is only 22% so they are considering taking her off the vent tomorrow and trying her back on CPAP. (She's been on the vent since 4-6-07) enough already!)
